Tijmen Henkes holds a BSc in mathematics and economics from University College Utrecht and completed a research master’s in economics at the Tinbergen Institute. He is currently pursuing a PhD in economics at the University of Amsterdam within the Tinbergen Institute programme. His research focuses on how social norms and power relations shape decision-making within households, using both experimental and quasi-experimental methods.
